Marketing (or advertising) is the process by which companies advertise
products or services to potential customers. It is a traditional definition of marketing and we can say the definition of an old era. Today there is a boom of I-marketing also known as Internet Marketing. This event is especially designed for how to marketing your products online and reach your customers globally.
“21st Century Marketing: An Evening with Carlos Cashman” is an event organized by TIE (The Indus Entreprenuers) on feburary 8,2010 at Royal Palm, Lahore. Carlos Cashman, a MIT graduate , a serial entrepreneur and one of the world’s leading experts on online marketing. With over 3 Trillion USD transacted over the Internet each year and Pakistan’s position as the third fastest growing country of Internet users globally (currently at around 18.5 million people), online marketing expertise has become the need of the day. In Pakistan, online advertising spend has been doubling every year since 2004 and is on track to over-take radio advertising in the next year.
During his presentation he highlighted that it was the startegy of old ages that
buyers aprroaches customers B2C but now new marketing is that customers aprroaches buyers C2B and it is more potential becuase only interested customers will ask you details about the product.He told a number of online tools which can help to marketing the products and mostly are free e.g Facebook, Twitter, Digg , Stumble Upon etc. by qouting an example of London Secrets, a group was created by a lady on face book ,which highlights the loop holes of wireless connectivity in London and 0.15 million people joined that in 2 days so we can use these tools by experimenting or check our product name that how much it is effective to attract the people.
Besides Carlos Cashman there was a panel discussion of leading hands-on experts in online marketing and advertising with a local perspective including Mr. Badar Khushnood (Country Consultant, Google), Mr. Amer Sarfraz (Head of Media and Strategy, Bramerz) and Mr. Zafar Khan (CEO, Sofizar). The panel was moderated by Mr. Adnan Ali (CEO,ClickChain ). Badar Khushnood told the terminologies like CTR,CPM and emphasis on this how things done properly and how to launch your business and what is the benefit of remaining alive on internet. Zafar Khan gave advice for launching new business or product that you must set a goal for the business then start marketing otherwise you will face a lot of problems.
