Marketing 2.0: The New Rules of Engagement

Marketing Association of Pakistan organized a seminar on “Marketing 2.0 the New Rules of Engagement dated February 24, 2010 at Dinshaw Mahal, Avari Hotel, Lahore.  Mr. Badar Khushnood, Country Consultant, Google Pakistan the Guest Speaker, shared his knowledge and experience on the above mentioned subject.

He started his presentation by highlighting what are the changes happening in the world with respect to technology awareness. Mr. Badar told that technological trends are changing day by day and people are becoming more technology friendly.

He further spoke about the importance of online advertising and discussed how it can facilitate organizations for making corporate decisions. He mentioned that many organizations are using large number of resources on traditional ways of advertising but they don’t know the impact of advertising and without research, organizations are unable to understand that impact which is also very costly.

He explained different tools and applications of Google which can helpful for people engaged in Business to Business and Business to Consumer activities. He emphasized that Google Insight can easily and freely give you different trends of people searches most in a specific period therefore it can help organizations to understand what are the needs of their customer so marketing strategies are changing from push to pull.

He explained the advertisement model Program “Adwords” which is more specific, relevant and cost effective so organizations can easily target their audience in a highly effective manner. He also underlined that Google Aps is helping different organization in pointing their email server to gmail. He also explained the plus points of Google analytics and told that it gives organizations rich insights of website traffic and marketing effectiveness.

He also emphasized the power of social media and shared many interesting facts related to social media marketing. It was an interactive session by Mr Badar. In the end Souvenir distributed and tea was served.
