Inauguration of Broadband Internet Project

President Asif Ali Zardari Inaugurated a broadband Internet service in Southern Punjab which was funded by Universal Service Fund (Ministry of IT). Launched on 20th January the project went far and wide providing connections to 32 cities.

With the help of PTCL and world call the project is expected to provide broadband facilities to less-developed areas, like southern Punjab. Those have considerable awareness on its usage.

The president stressed upon the developing areas of Southern Punjab, as their is population of about 4.4 million people, living in these areas, who need to be educated. There is a dire need to equip these people with facilities which they can utilize in educating themselves.
